I am back after a short staycation. It was well used and much needed. You really do need to be kind to yourself when it comes to working in any field. Whether it’s a desk job or an artist, you need to rest your body and mind. Had family here and went to a wedding, both went very well! Always good to celebrate precious moments with friends.
I was pretty good about keeping away from the easel. Was thinking of it as a reboot for my creative side. It felt good to just walk past my studio without the need to create. Once I started to paint again, it was a relaxing wonderful feeling.
As soon as the vacation ended I was thinking, “now what do I do”. No orders from Safe Haven, decided to continue on some commissions and new pieces. Earlier this week, I received an excited message from Safe Haven. Need a piece for a donor, they wanted Friendship II that had sold! Bam, something to do!
To back up a little, the auction for Safe Haven was on May 18, two piece sold. Friendship II and Tiger Cub. Total of three pieces have been sold to passionate animal lovers. It’s a wonderful feeling.
The first Friendship piece (shown below) was so popular, I have been asked to do a third one. Yes a third one! So, Friendship III 🙂 It’s hard to do a carbon copy of an original piece, luckily the clients know this and are perfectly fine with it. Have to think of it as a new painting. But I think this might be the last Friendship piece, would hate to get burnt out on it.
I was happy to complete two other pieces over the vacation as well. Both of Safe Haven residents and part of the We Are Not Trophies series. Both are for sale on my website www.taylorannfineart.com. Interested in purchasing them but can’t pay up front? Contact me and let’s work out a payment plan for you!
